The Battle of Ypres was fought in Ypres, Belgium on the Western Front. It began April 22nd, 1915, and lasted until May 25th, 1915. It was between the Germans and the Russians. Weather played a major role in this battle as well. The Germans waited until the wind and weather were favorable to drop the canisters of poison gas on Ypres. Also, Ypres is a very windy city, so it spread the gas much farther than it otherwise would have gone. In the end, although the gas did help the Germans gain ground, the Russians still managed to pull through and bring home the victory of this battle.
